It was a pleasure meeting you yesterday and discussing the best option for repairing your ceiling. We agreed that the ideal solution would be to install wooden battens attached to the existing floor joists, with plasterboard fixed onto these battens.

The labor cost is £400, which includes:

• installation of the wooden battens,
• fitting of the plasterboard sheets,
• removal and reinstallation of the light fixture in the center of the ceiling,
• taping, jointing, and sanding of the plasterboard seams.

The cost of materials is £165, covering:

• battens for the framework,
• 4 sheets of plasterboard,
• tape for joining the plasterboard sheets, and filler.

The total for labor and materials comes to £565. However, as this is our first job for you and since you don’t require an invoice, we’re offering a 10% discount, which is £56 off, bringing the final price to £509.
